Polymergence (January 2017)

This project aims to explore the emergent behaviors and geometries of natural systems. As a biological role model, we investigated the ant species, Polyrhachis dives, which uses natural fibers and silk to build intricate nest structures. We developed a scripting process in GhPython, utilizing a “Walker” algorithm and mesh subdivision to abstract the nest building behavior and structure.
